With this tool you can find current facts and figures for your local region to complement the national statistics that appear in the Just Neighbors sessions. The local statistics will allow you to compare conditions in your area with the national averages. We have arranged the information by sessions.

Who Is My Neighbor?

The numbers and percentages of people and children in poverty; median income by household.

Making Ends Meet

Find the self-sufficiency standards for your state or county (where available) by family size. Find out what the living wage would be.

Does Working Work?

Federal and state minimum wage and unemployment rates; the hours at minimum wage to reach the poverty level; annual earnings at full time minimum wage; and the numbers of people earning minimum wage.

Housing Matters

Find your localFair Market Rents (FMRs); local renter's wage; the hours required at minimum wage to 'afford' a 2 BR apartment.

Prejudice, Privilege, and Poverty

Compare unemployment rates, percentages of home ownership and hourly wage rates for whites, blacks and and hispanic both nationally and locally.
